Yesterday we had an epic summer storm. Just as I was leaving for work, the rain notched itself up to 'scary.' While on the bus, it started coming down so hard, there was absolutely no visibility. Some of the streets were starting to flood. When I finally got into work, I was soaked. I looked like an urchin from a Charles Dickens novel. All in all, wet denim = yucky. The sandals (which are sporty & can handle rain) I wore to work were still damp at 5 pm when I was leaving. My poor umbrella finally got destroyed by the wind. It blew inside out 4 or 5 times. I picked up a new one last night after getting lost in The Bay which, in my defense, was so huge, I could see the curvature of the earth in the distance. It is oppressively humid right now. It feels like breathing underwater. It would appear that more stormy weather is on tap for today.
