I finally made the decision to stop using shampoo. My poor skin of late has been NOT happy as I have ezcema. Originally, I had thought that I had dandruff so I had been using Head & Shoulders. I didn't quite connect the extreme itching & bright red scalp (it looked sunburned) with the shampoo until one morning I leaned over Mike as he was on the computer to give him a hug/kiss & his hair was still wet from his bath. He had used the Head & Shoulders as well. My cheek broke out into a rash immediately. I had to go wash my face off when I realized I could feel it tingling, itching & burning. I knew I was having an allergic reaction to something. So I went back to regular non-dandruff shampoo. I found an Aveeno brand that seemed perfect. I still had an itchy scalp a little bit, but the redness started going away. I pretty much finished the bottle, but then the itchiness started ramping up again. I've been jumping from one brand to another, and still having the same issues. Also, my hair is baby fine so if something isn't working, it is evident right away.
So, I knew something had to change. I researched how to wash your hair without using shampoo - the 'no 'poo' method. The premise is that the wash is done with a baking soda & water concoction & the rinse is an apple cider vinegar diluted with water. I'm currently using a teaspoon of baking soda diluted with approximately 1 litre of water. I bought identical sports bottles to mix my stuff in. I put in a glug of vinegar in the bottom of the other bottle & diluted it with water. I added one drop of rosemary essential oil to help with the scent. It makes it smell like apple cider vinegar plus a tiny whiff of rosemary. Obviously, one drop wasn't quite enough.

So far, this seems to be working quite well for me! The only thing I'm thinking of doing is getting a trim, and possibly, a long sweeping bang/fringe thing. I don't know though. I always like bangs, then hate them passionately when I have them.
