I think I am coming out of the funk I was in over the weekend. Hormones/Having a Wacky Cycle + Insensitve Email = GRR ARGH!

Anyway, I want to know why none of you ever mentioned I needed to read Charles de Lint. I cast my eyes at you all! I'm currently into my 3rd book of his and am drinking in these words & worlds like some exotic elixir that has no name.

Yes.

The working part of Monday is over with. That is good. Now onto the sitting around & wondering what's for dinner portion of today. I think I must put on less clothes as it is too hot. If I dare say it, I think summer has finally arrived.

Ok, who is Charles de Lint and do I need to be reading him, too? That description sure makes me think so.

He writes these beautiful fairytale worlds that intersect with human worlds. Mostly it seems that his work is about the border lands between magic & reality, life & death. I think his website is charlesdelint.com.

Thank you. I guess I could have googled. :) Your endorsement is compelling, though. Sounds like he's right up my alley.

I hope I wasn't implying you should Google him! Curse this technology. :) I've only read two of his books so far, and they are stunning. I've been looking in used bookstores for his books & haven't found any so far. The worlds that de Lint creates are so totally complex and real, even with the fairy/magic element woven in. He writes the most amazing female characters too.

No no! You implied nothing. It just occurred to me after the fact that I barged onto your journal, demanding info which was readily available from the internet. :) His work sounds fascinating and fabulous, so thanks again for the rec!
