what I did on my summer vacation
Aug. 20th, 2010 05:50 pmI've had a great time this week. I've read, doodled in my art journal (& made some breakthroughs), ate food, did the touristy thing, and slept.
Yesterday we went to Kensington Market. I've always wanted to go. My mom always kept me from there because it was where the hippies lived. <Insert a big sniff of disdain on the word hippies.> She was right. It is full of hippies. Also, I am pretty sure that I am one of them because I felt comfortable; almost like I had found home. Yes, it wasbusy and crowded and electrifying. There were strange men, and beautiful girls, and rain, and then, the sun.

Here we are, driving* on the Gardiner Expressway. It's been a long time since I've been in Toronto. Everywhere was the orange of construction. Some condos were right beside the highway. I couldn't imagine living 15 feet away from the rush of traffic.

Those hippies like Green transportation.

Oh Death, at Courage My Love. Mike liked their collection of luchador masks.

I liked their sweet shades.
If I hadn't been dizzy from thirst & hunger, I probably would have bought a pair & had my prescription for
reading glasses elevated to epic heights.

I didn't go in since I wasn't in the mood. But, still, PIE.

Instead, I had fish & chips at Kensington Cornerstone. OMG so delicious. Expensive clocking in at just under $20, but worth it. No, seriously.
Also I noted they have gluten free beers on their menu. According to their online menu, their entire selection is gluten free.
