I've been waiting for July to just be over already. It's lasted for months.
This week alone has simply dragged.
This picture was taken in my 'hood, in the parking lot of the local convenience store, Tim Hortons, Scotiabank, Talize, Pisa Pizzeria, and some weird drugstore I can't remember & have never been in since it's always closed.
The parking lot is also where quite a few drug deals go down.
I've seen quite a few while pretending to be fascinated by something else.
There is an enormous co-op housing complex behind the stores. It is full of children & reeks of that monotonous desperation found in beige & brown co-op housing.
I worry about all the kids I see whenever I drive past.
Oh, and if the Tim Hortons has the shades pulled down at night, that is their 'signal' that they are being/have been robbed. Once, the convenience store was robbed, and the perps walked across the parking lot to Tim Hortons & robbed it.
Still. In the midst of this place, which is strange to me sometimes can be remarkably beautiful.
I must remind myself of the beauty around me, or else, I will only see the ugly.
