slowlyunfolding: (solitude - finding my own path)
On Saturday, we had a huge snowstorm. Of course I was out in it, having dinner & fretting about the drive back home. I've been feeling caught between two worlds; or more precisely, two versions of myself.

That yearning that always lies deep in my heart has risen to the surface. The snowstorm made it ache.

Sky reached for the Ground, not quite able to touch. Trembling just for one touch, one caress, one single moment that would outshine all others. Sky had been forbidden to touch the Ground. Gathering together all manner of Clouds, Sky whispered its secret desire & imbued the Clouds with urgency. The Clouds bunched up together, and tried to reach the Ground. Unable to get close enough, the Clouds hatched a plan with Rain & Wind. Slowly, a gentle, but persistent curtain of Snow started to fall toward the Ground, its lush velvet body bridging the gap between Sky & Ground. The spaces between snowflakes were so close, the Sky shivered as each flake found its destination. The snowfall served to amplify Sky's desire for the Ground & diffuse it at the same time, allowing the sky enough composure to continue as she always had. Except for the dreams.

Those dreams that come at night where the sky takes the ground in her arms, the ground embraces her back and doesn't let go.
